Bullying happens to children in care and whilst there is much awareness of the issue, it can often be misunderstood. It is very worrying that so many young people suffer from bullying on a daily basis. In light of such statistics and growing public concern, it is important that all those who work with young people have a better understanding of bullying and what they can do to both prevent it and intervene when it occurs.
The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:
- To define bullying
- To consider the law around bullying
- To understand the scale of the problem
- To consider cyber-bullying within this context
- To identify the effects of bullying
- To identify the signs and indicators
- To understand what we can do to manage bullying
