This course focuses on many aspects of trauma, providing information and good practice strategies for working with children who have experienced trauma.
The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:
- To understand the key principles of trauma
- To recognise the impact of overwhelming stress and trauma on child development
- To identify the potential behavioural outcomes of suffering from trauma
- To explore strategies which support the healing of children who have suffered traumatic experiences
This course meets the Training, Support, and Development Standards as outlined in The Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.
