Child trafficking is still a very real issue in today’s society, and it all too often gets swept under the rug or is not discussed openly. This course will provide carers with a better understanding of what child trafficking is. It will examine the different categories of trafficking and will enable practitioners to know the different agencies that can support them and the child. Learners will also gain knowledge on the impact that child trafficking can have on a young person, and how to support those that have been trafficked.
The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:
- To raise awareness of trafficking
- To understand what child trafficking is and the different categories of trafficking
- To understand how to support young people who have been trafficked
- To gain an awareness of the different agencies that can support you
This course meets the Children’s Home Quality Standards as outlined in The Children’s Homes Regulations (England) 2015 and Children’s Homes Quality Standards 2015.
