Every employee has a duty of responsibility to protect data and adhere to the legal requirements of the Data Protection Act (1998) and related legislation for the holding, processing, storing, and security of identifiable information. All practitioners have a duty of confidentiality in their daily work.
This course aims to improve awareness of the issues that relate to confidentiality in order to protect all personal identifiable information, as well as ensure that all carers understand the legal aspects of confidentiality, data protection, information security, and their professional responsibilities.
The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:

- To understand confidentiality and security
- To understand accuracy and data quality
- To understand transparency and data sharing
