This course aims to empower individuals to use mental capacity at the forefront of everyday practice. It will increase awareness of when a DoLS is occurring, what process to apply, and will enable learners to have a healthy debate around decision making and DoLS impact.
The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:
- To understand individual responsibility for mental capacity assessments
- To understand how DoLS impacts on young people
- To increase understanding of relevant legislation
- To understand roles and responsibilities
This course meets the Children’s Home Quality Standards as outlined in The Children’s Homes Regulations (England) 2015 and Children’s Homes Quality Standards 2015.
