Through this course, learners will gain knowledge on the primary effects of epilepsy and the importance of supporting young people to take medication as directed by their doctor.
The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:
- To know what epilepsy is and be aware of the causes
- To be able to recognize at least three types of seizures and the signs
- To know how to care for someone having a seizure
- To be aware of the relevant documentation that is needed following a seizure
This course meets the Children’s Home Quality Standards as outlined in The Children’s Homes Regulations (England) 2015 and Children’s Homes Quality Standards 2015.
