This course aims to provide kinship carers, and those who support them, with a way to understand the challenges they face and provides practical guidance on managing the difficult feelings and behaviour that often come with kinship care.
The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:
- To understand the key issues in looking after children related to them
- To learn how to help children in kinship care to recover from trauma
- To understand the need to care for those who care for the children
- To understand the benefits to the child in kinship care
This course meets the Training, Support, and Development Standards as outlined in The Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.
